The Full Story

Omega first released the Seamaster in 1948, and over the years, the brand would produce many different variations of the model, including chronographs. Omega debuted the reference 145.005 in the 1960s as a simpler, more-versatile chronograph to sit next to some racing chrono that the brand offered.

Oh, that's right, the Speedmaster. While it had little success on the track, that watch did serve as NASA's choice in order to go to space and the Moon– you may have heard the story. Well, our Seamaster chronograph here features the same, legendary caliber 321 that served in the Speedmaster. Not too shabby, huh.

These cal. 321 powered, non-Speedmaster chronographs are getting harder and harder to find. Increasingly stored away into collections, these robust, daily-wear Omegas offer some of the best looks and wearability in the vintage market. Our ref. 145.005-67 here features a case made by EPSA as well, a casemaker who knows a thing or two about water resistance.

This Seamaster is in overall very good, honest condition. The case is strong with scratches and light nicks. The case is sharp and the bevels on the lugs are visible. The writing on the caseback is visible as well as the double step, but the caseback does show some wear. 

The dial is in good condition with some patina throughout. The hands and hour markers have developed some patina. The lume on the hands is slightly lighter than the lume on the dial. Both have aged nicely and work well together. There is some normal degradation on some lume plots. 

The crown is a later Omega service replacement. The dial, case, movement, and crown are all signed by Omega. The crystal has some light scratches. This watch was photographed on a 175mm/6.9inch wrist.
