Where to begin with the Omega 320 movement? Perhaps one of the most iconic movements of the 20th century, the 320 (2 registers) alongside its more famous 321 (3 registers) sibling, was made in a time when quality really mattered. The column wheel calibre 320, developed by Lemania and used extensively by Omega in the 60’s still remains as one of the most reliable and quality movements ever produced.

This example is a Ref. 101.009-65. Produced in 1965 and housed in a 35mm stainless steel snap back case, this is a really rare bird. While it is relatively easy to find Omega dress chronographs, they were mostly in white dials. This one has an extremely coveted matte black dial and stick hands filled with lume that is reminiscent of the Speedmasters of the day.

It is sized very elegantly and works very well as a dress watch. With a simple legible dial it remains fairly modern in its styling and is still very wearable today. While Speedmasters have climbed in value in recent times, this 101.009 remains highly undervalued, partly because you just never ever see these available. I do fee that it is a matter of time before this catches the Omega craze.
